In Venice, the beautiful city, the sinking city.

How would she have known that a masquerade would be formal? Black and white yes, but formal?

Straightening her tuxedo jacket she tottered away in the hope of a gondola spotting her.... yet this late in the afternoon in the backwater alleys she had to keep walking.

With a sigh she carried on, her head held high, and walked towards the Campanile de San Marco and prayed she remembered the winding route to her hotel.
She was sure it was around here somewhere...

This lovely tuxedo jacket (and dress) is a free group gift, I love the design of it and it teamed perfectly with the necklace I wanted to blog (also a cheapie).
A few points to make about the dress, however, be aware it only comes in three sizes, considering it's free there's no need to demo but it's disappointing if you really like it and it won't fit your shape.
Another point, the rigging is good however in certain poses my arms do poke through the sleeves and the padded shoulders aren't complimentary for the more energetic poses.

Dory is quite possibly the best Disney character to date (minus Stitch), is it sad that I remembered that quote off the top of my head?
Blue, Black and Yellow are Dory's colours, the colour of the regal tang!

I love Disney, I love anything Disney related though in all honesty I can't abide Peter Pan!
I went to Disneyland with my sister and cousin, we wanted autographs and true to Peter's form he didn't stand still long enough to sign everyone's autograph books upsetting a few children.... and me!

It's back!

Fifty Linden Friday is back! It's probably it's first time gracing this blog but I am happy to see it back!!
It's a round up of the old faithful's with today's FLF, I'm not complaining as some new ones have been thrown in!


A bit of an alter ego look as Wasabi Pills provided a blonde and brunette hair, I will probably get the brunette later and attempt a tinting!
The boots are FAB they are so me and as they're mesh they flex with any pose instead of giving my feet a stiff look, they're from DECO, another of my favourite FLF regulars.

I bought Cheeky Pea's lemonade stand, cute poses though not great for skirts! The seat is meant to go behind the stall but I don't feel that showed off the poses well!

The glasses and makeup are from Adore and Abhor and they are AWESOME!!
I love how the sunglasses make you look sad and without the sunglasses the lips look just as awesome, the black eyeliner and eyebags are so cute too, the drawn look is so rare in SL!

The Dress and Shrug are by 22769 for Summer Fashion Festival and are stunning as usual, I love how you can really see the work that goes into them and the gradient of red to pale pink is brilliant!

Meet the girls!

So I thought I'd try my hand at making shapes, I wanted to make different varieties but I really love curvy girls and thanks to Mesh standard sizing it's become much easier to dress and style curvy gals in styles without having to edit and resize prims!

So first say hello to Kitty, she's got a gorgeous hourglass shape with a sweet face and a quirky look about her (see below for styling credits)

Next we have Lana, with a slim, athletic shape while still retaining her curves she has a simple boyish body and a sultry face.

Finally, Lilly is possibly my favourite, she's a mixture of afro-carribean and latino, she works well with any shade of darker skin. She also has a lovely hourglass shape and a a sexy face!

On Location, Store Project #3 visits Week 13

I sat down to blog last Sunday, wondering what colour of Tea Green I could pick out of my inventory, at that moment my fiance ran in the house asking for the number for the local police. It turns out whilst he'd been walking the dog he was chatting on the phone to his mum and some boys cycled past, grabbed his phone (and eye) and stole his phone. Understandably we were all quite shaken up by this and add this along side my dissertation, 4 other essays and depression and our heads just spiralled.
So this is late...

I put this 52 WoCC along side another On Location, this week I visted Lindsay Pinelli's store "Little House of Curios" after she mentioned having a waterfall on Plurk! Little House of Curios sells little bits and bobs of cute, low prim, superbly made furniture!
I loved the decor outside, the flowers surrounding the trees are so simple and quaint, they worked really well with my early spring/summer look that I put together!

I really should've got a picture of the waterfall but here's a close up of Saff about to take a dive!

Going Back to Black

Usually I'll write a cutesy little story to go along with my blog post but the Back2Black event begins tomorrow (11th) and I'm blogging 22769's item (is a full outfit but I loved the jumper most) which will be at the event.

Back2Black is an event to highlight mental health illnesses.
Since I was about 11 or 12 I've had mood fluctuations, who doesn't at that age? But I lived in a household where my sister suffered from severe depression due to bullying and anorexia because at 7st people called her fat.
She got better, thankfully, though I don't remember much of that time, I don't remember anyone telling me she had depression or anorexia, I just guessed.. I stayed at the school my sister was bullied at while she dropped out and moved to a private school, she got better but when I was 17 she had a nasty breakup, now we have a very open household and I wandered into the bathroom while she was in the bath. The only thing I can describe is one of the photographs at Auschwitz, where the bodies lay there dead and emaciated but what lay in the bath was my living, breathing, skeletal sister, all I could smell was the overpowering smell of pear drops, also known as ketones, ketones are produced when your body starts digesting it's own fat because you have no nutrients coming in or left with you..
I won't lie, I started screaming at her, I don't cope the way my parents did by weedling her to eat, I just would scream and scream, one day I threatened if she didn't eat we'd play suffragettes and I'd force feed her..

22769 Back2Black HomeDress and Willow Maxi Skirt

I digress. Growing up in that situation probably screwed me over a little bit. Just under a year ago I started using the app "My Fitness Pal", I weighed myself obsessively, if I hadn't lost weight I'd not eat, I went from being a healthy 9st 10/11 to 8st 12, still a healthy weight but at my height (5tf 7) I looked terrible. Peter told me, my friends told me and my family told me.
Along with this I was having violent mood swings, honestly I don't remember much of this.. I ask Pete now and again what I was like and he tells me I was vile, unbearable and difficult.. I guess I must have been. He begged me to get help but wouldn't force me to go, he said if I needed help I had to go myself.

One day I finished work early and went through my university campus on the bus.. inside I was tearing myself apart, do I stay on the bus or do I get off and walk into the doctors?
I stayed on the bus..
The next day I walked into the doctors and broke down to a nurse who hurridly made me an appointment with the doctor. When the doctor asked me what made me come to get help I told her
"I got let out of placement early"

I was already on low dose tricyclic antidepressants for my migraines so she upped them to work as both migraine relief and anti-depressants, the first two weeks were murder, my moods flew off the handle but slowly I got better.
I was still trying to lose weight though.. then, when my housemates were out the house I was running from the shower to my room and I caught a glimpse of myself in the mirror, dropping my towel I looked at myself and all I could think was
"WHERE the hell have my boobs gone?!"

Sadly, that was my turning point, not people's concerns, not the doctor, not my family nor the love of my life
My boobs, I had fried eggs where I once had some nice teacups
Peter, dog and I went on holiday to Cornwall for a week and I stopped using the app.
I did a traithlon in May.
In September I helped Pete get diagnosed with depression (work related) I supported him through finding the job of his dreams, moving 80 miles from me and now he is detoxing from his antidepressants. I'm still on mine and still have low moods but I feel so much better now.

The one thing I can say if you find yourself in this situation is seek help, don't go it alone, so many people care enough to see you get better.

Sneak Peaks and Freebies!!

Oh my gosh, I DIED when I put this dress (called witte) on!! Again many colours available but I felt the two tones of blue perfectly complimented my earrings.
I adore the floating detail over the top of the dress, it's so elegant and feminine, I don't think I will ever take this dress off, I feel like I just stepped off the catwalk!!

Last, but by no means least, is this tasty low cut number called hendricks, and oh... what's that hanging from my neck?! It's ANOTHER freebie!!! This one is designed by [glow] and is available from The Dressing Room's facebook group. All you have to do is like it and write your avatar's name on the wall. Now I know how people feel about divulging their RL selves to SL so my advice (if you choose to do it) is join, do your name and AS SOON AS you receive the necklace remove your comment.

Doing lines

"I must not tease the fae, I must not tease the fae, I must not...."

So one of my favourite shops, The Sea Hole, has put out a hunt item in the form of this gorgeous little playsuit, I blogged it on The Cat today in summery fashion, heels, sunnies and at the beach, while in my heart of hearts I KNEW when I put it on it had strands of DNA and carbon chains all over it!
So I had to redeem myself and blog it how I feel it should be blogged, and that's at school!
Now I know things I'm wearing have been doing the blog rounds (which drives me slightly insane at times!) put I doubt anywhere put together in this way!

The Writing Desk was made by a very good friend who made it for a roleplay in Avilion and thankfully put it on the Marketplace!

I wanted a satchel á la the 1930's but they're not all too easy to find so I grabbed this cute rucksack which is fully mod so I did a bit of fitting to myself which is thankfully nice and easy!

And what's the betting Miss Rosemarie Indigo of Banana Banshee is going to murder me when she finds out I've bought the freckles she sells? (Mine went missing) and the eyes were from the lucky board so hopefully she can't kill me for that!
