Dancing with grace

She arrived early, her bag packed full of her dance clothes and ready to go

Performing her stretches she thought with dread of practising on point with no point shoes, wriggling her toes she hoped the feeling wouldn't disappear all together!

Changing into her dancing clothes she stretched and flexed to her heart's content! Thankfully her toes survived!

Week 10 ~ The Forbidden Forest

She couldn't remember why she was doing this... was it a dare, was she cursed, or did she just feel a bit daring? Regardless of why she did it she felt brave... maybe the warmth flooding through her was bravery and not the potion she thought someone had slipped into her drink.

Peering above her, the gates towered high, blocking the entrance.. unlocked and so she pushed gently, the gates swung noiselessly to gape forbodingly in front of her.

Scuttling past the gates, her feet left telling tracks... no one came here so hopefully snowfall would cover them, she thought.
The sign stood, plain and stark, the word forbidden seemed darker and more terrifying yet she pushed on

and once you break the rules, there's no looking back... well maybe one last look..

A Morning of Folly - 52 WoCC Week 7

Sunday mornings were always a toughie she thought to herself as she lay in bed. Saturdays consisted of the interhouse quidditch match and usually much late night celebrations or grumblings depending on who won. For some unknown reason the breakfast still began at 6am when everyone had had a late night...
Ok, maybe not everyone, the ickle firsties were always in bed before 9.
So there she lay in bed contemplating getting up for breakfast... the 6th and 7th years wouldn't be up by now, their heads would be too heavy after all the butterbeers they'd snuck back from Hogmeade

ok, that decided it, she pulled her lethargic form out of bed and with a huge stretch she looked around blearily for something to wear..

She loosened her hair from it's bun and let the long waves tumble down over her red sweater and pulled on yesterdays overalls, tucking them inside the jumper. Shoes... shoes....

Incidentally Folly is one of the colours for my wedding, goes perfectly with bright green!

With a slight laugh she slipped on some ridiculously high pink shoes that she had brought with her for partys and such like before deciding that she would get docked a good few house points with these shoes on and made a mental note to send them back to mother with the next owl she received.

Hearing the clock chime 6 she pulled on some heavy boots, suitable for the cold weather and her cloak and ran full pelt down the staircase, nearly losing a foot in one of the steps that always disappeared every time she was on her way down stairs...

It took her a moment or two to realise that none of the hall or food was in focus and with a grumble accio'd her glasses to her... damn being sleepy!

Dressy on a cold day...?

Pink wasn't usually her colour of choice... Ravenclaw blue was what she was proud of whereas pink was the colour of prissy, simpering girls from houses that cared. But this dress was well worth a squeal or two in a high pitched manner

It was definately a contender for the hearty party... but why save a dress for an occasion? Accessorise it up with a bit of this and that and no one would even realise she'd worn it before when she turned up to the dance!

Slipping on a chunky knit sweater it was worthy of casual attire. In the common room she felt the queen of casual chic though on entering the grounds she realised chic did nothing to deter the biting cold of a Scottish winter!

Bloody Hell It's COLD!!!

So she decided to just save the dress for now and go around in her lazy overalls and jumper.... it's warmer!

Yeah... this is less chic more warm!

52 Weeks of Colour Challenge - Week 6

It's sunday again! Hogsmeade has been and gone so she's just left with a lazy Sunday filled with hurried homework in front of the fire in the Common Rooms, the only issue being if you need a book one would have to go to the library which is FREEZING (and she means freezing!). Wrapping up warm was the best option, she shrugged on her warm cardigan and pulled up her thick socks, a nice floaty skirt in alice blue seemed to finish off the ensemble... oh yes geek chic she could do... probably a bit more geek than chic though some would say!

Her blouse was probably a bit thin but winding up the tye for her cardigan she shrugged and decided no one would notice that, so she headed off to the library to find books for her herbology homework... or was it Defence Against the Dark Arts?! She reminded herself that during the NEXT hogsmeade visit she would pick up a diary to note down her work in..!

Having a lazy saturday

It's early on a Saturday and Saffie can't sleep. She loves saturdays for so many reasons, the main one being no classes and therefore no uniform! It would probably be a good idea to wrap up warm though, it's still a very cold winter and Hogwarts is up in Scotland and completely covered in snow!
The problem is, though, mother has still not sent on Saffie's gloves, she left them behind after the Christmas hols, she knew she'd forget something but didn't realise it would be something so important! Maybe she can get one of the Ravenclaw girls to knit her a pair....
Until then she'll have to wait for the snowball fight one of the boys suggested! And she definately can't have a snowball fight with her nails done so well!

A bit o' 52 weeks and a bit o' H: YS

I've joined a new roleplay sim called Hogwarts: Your Story, it's based on the Harry Potter novels but 21 years on from the books. The sim is absolutely gorgeous and this is a quick picture of Ravenclaw tower with Saff being a member of Ravenclaw house. The sim is members only at the moment but The Alley Shoppes can be accessed by everyone for uniforms and the like!

So it's come to week 4 of the 52 weeks of colour challenge and this week's colour is iron, now Luna's iron is quite pale whereas I see iron being a dark silvery-grey

Also, below, is one of my new weekend dresses as during the week and in classes at Hogwarts full uniform is required but I thought I'd go shopping for some tasteful dresses and some nice warm socks!
So Many Styles is having a sale so I thought I'd get some pretty outfits from there. I particularly adore the beautiful emerald dress, the ruffles and high neck make it less "sexed up" than most of the clothes on SL and hopefully make me look more like a 14 y/o!

Daily Dollarbie

I've discovered a new shop! It's Called Vinyl cafe and they do a daily dollarbie (lasting for 24 hours) so this lovely military jacket is todays daily dollarbie!

Now don't worry too much if you miss it because once the 24 hours is up a new dollarbie replaces it and this one will be available for 50L! As are all the past daily dollarbies!

Welly Boots!

The end of summer is that kind of "mid-season" where it's till warm but the weather is perfectly crap. "New Release"

There is quite possibly nothing I HATE more than flicking on to Freebie blogs and falling in love with a beautiful skin/hair/outfit and then scrolling down to find that underneath it is described as a new release.
New Releases are NOT freebies/dollarbies but advertisements and I swore when I started fashion blogging on Saffron's Place that I would never succumb to advertising a new release....

Bored of...

Here's my little rant of the day:I'm bored, I'm bored of seeing "new releases" on blogs that usually have freebies and I'm bored of getting excited over a gorgeous dress/pair of shoes/hairstyle (delete as applicable)

I like to make sure that when I spend money in SL it's as little as possible and good quality

So I saw someone vaguely blogging some trousers released by The Plastik so decided I'd find these freebies and I was so surprised I hadn't seen any blog posts about the HUGE quantity of freebies that had been given away (or maybe I just hadn't been looking hard enough?!)

You may have seen that I blogged loads of outfits on The Cat re: The Plastik (if not hit the link and have a look)

But those were outfits rather than a winning grungy combination that I have mishmashed together

So one of my favourite shops, The Sea Hole, has put out a hunt item in the form of this gorgeous little playsuit, I blogged it on The Cat today in summery fashion, heels, sunnies and at the beach, while in my heart of hearts I KNEW when I put it on it had strands of DNA and carbon chains all over it!
So I had to redeem myself and blog it how I feel it should be blogged, and that's at school!
Now I know things I'm wearing have been doing the blog rounds (which drives me slightly insane at times!) put I doubt anywhere put together in this way!

The Writing Desk was made by a very good friend who made it for a roleplay in Avilion and thankfully put it on the Marketplace!

I wanted a satchel á la the 1930's but they're not all too easy to find so I grabbed this cute rucksack which is fully mod so I did a bit of fitting to myself which is thankfully nice and easy!

And what's the betting Miss Rosemarie Indigo of Banana Banshee is going to murder me when she finds out I've bought the freckles she sells? (Mine went missing) and the eyes were from the lucky board so hopefully she can't kill me for that!

Todays not-so-much procrastination

Now as I blogged on The Cat Exile have some lovely free hairs and I did say I would blog saff's daily outfit later after my final exam but celebratory drinky-poos got in the way of that so here I am, a day late but still lovely!

Now again, I had a little moment and needed to complete my outfit and so I hunted for socks, but thanks to the lovely Etoile (I adore her blog!) I saw she was wearing some lovely russet socks which were only 1L so I decided to take a peek and found some lovely blue socks to match my dress and I picked up a white pair too, you know... just in case!

Todays quirk

is taking on the 1930's post The Great War vibe
I don't know how accurate I am really seeing as if it weren't for the lovely lacey bra under that shirt Saffie would have her boobs out but we did the best we could.

What I love to do is find one gorgeous new piece of clothing and instead of making a nightmare mishmash by adding bog-standard modern jeans that hang from one's arse and some thigh high tacky black boots I have a fantastically pedantic moment and I have to find something new to go with it... this sort of explains why my inventory count has gone up and my balance has gone down... but hey ho, we look good in the process!
Come to think of it I do that often in real life too, my poor boyfriend when I move in will have a struggle finding a place to fit my extensive shoe and underwear collection! But that's beside the point!
